News, Events, Ideas, Messages and more!Confessions of a Financial Waster!Spendster began as the brainchild of the National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®) CEO, Ted Beck. On a trip to Los Angeles, Ted said, “Listen, everyone has a drawer at home full with junk. I doubt anyone has really sat down to think about how much money they’ve spent on it all.” An idea was born: give people a safe haven—a confessional, if you will—where they can talk about what they shouldn’t have bought. Better yet, what they could have saved if that money was put to more productive use. So, tell us your story. Drag out your collection of bric-a-brac and useless, expensive gizmos and gadgets and put them on the table. Face it: you’ve made some lousy purchases. But don’t worry; we’ve all been there at one point or another. The noncommercial, unbiased nonprofit, National Endowment for Financial Education® (NEFE®), works to improve everyone’s money management so that they are better able to reach their larger financial goals.
